It’s a real bummer when you check the Mariners game highlights on the official MLB app and the only one is “Abraham Toro’s RBI groundout.” After a feckless performance from the offense yesterday, Seattle tries to get back on track in today’s season finale against Kansas City.

The most notable thing about today’s lineup is the absence of one Kyle Seager, who is reportedly dealing with some elbow soreness. It’s interesting that instead of putting Toro at third base, the position he played most often with the Astros, the team is opting to fill in with erstwhile second baseman Dylan Moore there instead. I’m not sure if that speaks more to the team’s high opinion of Moore’s defense at third or a desire to keep grooming Toro for a permanent second base role, but I am a little disappointed; as far as the team’s future goes, I’m a little more interested in seeing how Toro handles third base than DMo, from whom we’ve already seen the highs and the lows at that position. Today’s game also features the Battery of the Future with Cal Raleigh and Logan Gilbert, though, so at least there’s that glimpse of the future to look towards.
Today’s game starts at 11:10 PT and can be found on ROOT Sports NW (TV) as usual, but because it is a Football Sunday, the radio broadcast will be over at 770 AM instead of the usual 710. As always, out-of-market folks can find the game streaming on MLB TV.
