Lefty Tyler Anderson and his soft stuff face a stiff challenge against the right-handed-heavy, power-hitting Red Sox lineup. The Mariners will counter with their lineup of lefties against RHP Nathan Eovaldi, who’s been excellent this year. Once again, the key for the Mariners will be hanging in there long enough to get to the soft underbelly of Boston’s bullpen.
You’ll notice there’s an additional lefty bat in there: Jake Fraley has been activated from the IL. In a corresponding move, José Marmolejos has been DFA’d. Everyone please pause a moment to think of staff writer Connor, president of the Marmo fan club.
Tonight’s game begins at 7:10 PT and can be found on the usual bat-channels: 710 ESPN for the radio cast, and ROOT Sports NW for TV. If you’re out of area, today’s Red Sox-Mariners game is MLB TV’s free game of the day, and will also be featured on MLB Network in certain markets.
