This game projects to be a major pitching duel, so it’ll probably end 11-9 or something

MLB: Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels

After a return of good ol-fashioned Chaos Ball last night, the Mariners attempt to secure a series split with the A’s tonight. It’s going to be tough sledding for the Mariners hitters, though, as the A’s will be running out the ace of their rotation in Chris Bassitt, who, as Jake pointed out in the series preview, should have been a first-ballot All-Star this year instead of an injury replacement. The Mariners will counter with Logan Gilbert, who’s making a strong case to be considered the ace of his own rotation after stringing together several impressive outings over his last few games.

In exciting news, tonight marks the MLB debut of the Battery of the Future, Logan Gilbert pitching to Cal Raleigh. Logan and Cal have one of the most interesting relationships in the organization; they’re good friends, but they’re also a little competitive with each other, each trying to best the other in preparation, and they’re not above a little brotherly ribbing of each other:

Tonight’s game can be seen in all the old familiar places (710 ESPN for radio, ROOT Sports NW for TV, MLB TV for those of you out of area), and it starts at 7:10 PT.
