Against most laws of man and nature, the Mariners pulled off a 3-2 win in game one of today’s impromptu doubleheader courtesy of a star turn from OF Taylor Trammell. The young CF clubbed a pair of solo homers and chased down a potential game-tying double deep in the gap in the bottom of the 9th to highlight a game Addie will have a full recap for later this afternoon!
Game two is a seven inning doubleheader, and Seattle will be shorthanded even further, with much of their bullpen used in game one and the starting rotation still short on rest. That means the return of RHP Robert Dugger who will serve as Seattle’s 27th man and get the start. Between Dugger and Yohan Ramírez, Seattle has a couple members of the Tacoma Rainiers usual staff who can work at least 2-3 innings, though the White Sox usually have enough thump in the order to make that a challenge.
FYI...Relievers who were not used in game 1 for the Mariners, Montero, Vest, Middleton and Ramirez.
