Hope everyone is staying as cool as possible this weekend! The Mariners, on the other hand, have beaten the heat by fleeing to the cool confines of Chicago, where the temperature is currently sitting at a mere 75 degrees. I know I’m pretty jealous.

I’m a little surprised to see Ty France in the field; Luis Torrens is DHing, but got a handful of starts at first base in his Tacoma stint. Maybe his wrist is okay? Sure hope so! A Bauers/Fraley/Haniger outfield isn’t super inspiring, but look to see Taylor Trammell step in as a defensive replacement in the later innings if Seattle can grab a lead - which will be a tall order against Carlos Rodón. He’s been dominant all season, stretching back to his first start back in April - coincidentally, also against the Mariners. Guaranteed Rate Field is still a pretty heavy hitter’s park, and with Yusei Kikuchi on the mound, I’m hoping his fly ball luck will start to even out. It could get pretty ugly if not.
