Fun fact: My least favorite part about writing for LL is creating these open game threads. No matter how I adjusted this lineup graphic, it continued to look bad. Realistically the bad optics here are only 57% on me and 43% on what the team is trotting out today, though..

There was a flurry of activity prior to the game this afternoon, and Tim covered it all here with his usual Tim-ly aplomb.
Since this is the start of a three-game series, you can also read Jake’s Series Preview. It remains a small miracle that Jake still writes these for us - sort of the equivalent of having Kyle Seager set up the tee for José Godoy. In the good ‘oLL meetup days I’d always read the current preview on my way there, to make sure I could sound like I actually knew what I was talking about. There are few people’s analyses I trust in the way that I trust Jake’s. He’s a gem and we’re very lucky.
Other pre-game news included this unsurprising-but-still-saddening update from Dad Bradam.
Skipper mentioned that Kyle Lewis had surgery on the meniscus in his right knee on Wednesday in LA. Everything went well. He'll stay there for a few days before returning to Seattle. No timetable for his recovery.

Also some calming news re Evan White’s scratch last night.
Scott Servais in his meeting with the media said that he expects Evan White who was scratched from last night’s lineup after not feeling right should be back in there tonight for the Rainiers.
