Hello. As Mariners fans, you probably would not be surprised to hear that on April 29, the team would roll out an outfield without any of Kyle Lewis, Mitch Haniger, Jake Fraley, or Jarred Kelenic. We’re used to that sort of thing. But let me offer you a bonus: our pitchers’ heads are falling off!
Or arms. Whatever. Thank goodness we pulled off that plan of waiting for starters to come to us hat in hand! Really galaxy brain stuff. Maybe we can trade for Anthony Rizzo. And Kyle Lewis?
Lewis off today as part of his buildup plan. Servais making it clear that with the majority of the season still ahead of them, he's not going to risk the health of players coming back from injury. If that means sitting guys 2, 3, games at the end of April. So be it.

Sigh, ok, fine, whatever. And Mitch Haniger?
Servais said that it was his call to keep Mitch Haniger out of the lineup again today. He said Haniger wanted to play but they exercised caution.

That has all led to.... this.

Putting new meaning to the term “getaway day”, I suppose. Best wishes and hopes to Yusei Kikuchi pulling 14 strikeouts out of his behind to keep Dylan Moore and Sam Haggerty from having to navigate Houston’s outfield extensively.
