The last two games have taken a lot of wind out of the sails of Mariners fandom. Anemic offense? Solid pitching? Sounds right out of 2010. At least they aren’t facing a future Hall of Famer who dismantled them the last time they faced him!

Ah. Well, nevertheless.
For the second straight day, Dylan Moore is not starting, but could enter as a pinch-hitter later in the game, especially for Taylor Trammell. Sam Haggerty is again batting sixth, this time playing second base, and Evan White makes his return to the five-hole. This will also likely be Luis Torrens’s last game in Seattle for a little while, with a move needed to make space for Jacob Nottingham, who was claimed from Milwaukee today. I hope he can put together an okay game today to hold onto in Tacoma. Justin Dunn is starting, which feels precarious at best, but he’s coming off of a strong outing in Fenway against a good hitting Red Sox club. Maybe he keeps the momentum going tonight.
UPDATE: Yikes!

While we don’t know why Haniger was scratched just yet, this lineup is... pretty hilarious, honestly. Ham Swaggerty leading off? José Marmolejos making just his second big league start in right field? Pure comedy. Right out of Lloyd’s wacky lineups. I’m convinced they’re winning now.
