After yesterday’s game being nationally televised on ESPN, we swing in the absolute opposite direction today with a radio-only (and on a delay) broadcast of today’s contest against the Colorado Rockies.
Let’s cook.

Justus Sheffield makes his spring debut, and here’s hoping there are a couple of videos of that slider that make their way to the 99% of people who will not be inside Peoria Stadium today. Taylor Trammell gets a start with the mostly A-squad lineup as well [studiously avoids any mention of Sam Travis, Designated Hitter].
In addition to Sheffield, Kendall Graveman, Keynan Middleton, Will Vest, Casey Sadler, Brady Lail, and uhhhh I’m going to say Connor? Sewald [update: wrong guess, it’s Paul] are all scheduled to get innings. I’m pretty bummed not to see Will Vest in action after seeing this cool thread of his Vulcan changeup yesterday:
Seattle Mariners' Rule 5 Pick and Tread athlete @willyvest throws 95-98 mph, but his best pitch is a Vulcan changeup.

Here's a thread of him explaining how he throws it. pic.twitter.com/Ywt3AoEPG4
And here’s the Rockies lineup, with pitching probables. Yes that Sheffield is Jordan Sheffield, Colorado’s Rule 5 pick this year and Justus’s brother. I look forward to some fun pics of the two brothers postgame.

Other than that this is...quite a different looking lineup for the Rockies. I’m pretty sure this is their B squad, but honestly, who can tell at this point.
Also, some news, for those of you who have been wondering about Shed’s timetable and where Luís Torrens has been:
Luis Torrens who has been out with a cut on his finger is expected to play this weekend.

Shed Long who is still coming back from shin surgery has been slowed in camp. Hit off Paxton in sim game yesterday but has yet to play in a Cactus League game.
As a reminder, you can listen to this game with no delay for free on the Mariners website - or MLB’s main site if you like to hop around between games. Also if you have MLB TV you can listen from there.
