Hello and welcome back to the last FanPost Friday of Spring Training 2021. We’re so close to the real thing, y’all. A regular ol’ 162-game season, can you imagine? Something to fill our idle, boring weeknights while we still aren’t really able to do much outside of our homes due to the pandemic? Finally!
Today I wanted to hit you up with a quick poll, since we all love click buttons. I want you to give me your pick(s) for 2021 Seattle Mariners breakout player, position players only. By breakout I mean who is going to take the biggest step forward in their production and position themselves as a cornerstone player for the upcoming contention window we’ve been hearing about/waiting for/dreaming about.
The Top Tier
These are the players with hype that the team is banking on to make big impacts in the coming seasons. I’m setting an arbitrary requirement of less than 220 MLB games played, and if they’re still under that number, they’re on the list of up-and-coming players. Yes, even the AL Rookie of the Year and yes, I inflated the number so I could include J.P. Crawford.

The Other Guys
These are the afterthought guys, the waiver wire claims, the forgotten/injured former prospects, and the journeymen players who haven’t hit their career peak yet. Which one of these non-hyped players is going to have the best season in 2021?
