Sporcle Friday: Kyle Seager’s Best Teammates by Position

The fifteen best to play with #15

MLB: Houston Astros at Seattle Mariners Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Seager has been a mainstay in Seattle longer than Russell Wilson. He got here well before the UW light rail station, South Lake Union’s complete face lift, or legal weed. He outlasted the viaduct, draft mate Dustin Ackley, Bar Sue, Neon Boots, and Nate Robinson’s chicken and waffles spot. Seager remains as constant as passive aggression, labradoodles, and canvas tote bags, as much a fabric of the city as Subarus listening to KEXP.

In honor of #15, we’re shouting out his 15 best Mariner teammates, sort of. In choosing to do this by position, we do have a couple weak links who made the team due to the first base or relief pitcher plagues that engulf this franchise. We’ve also had to leave out Kyle’s best friend Nelson Cruz, who is unquestionably one of the best teammates he ever had, but does not fit into the arbitrary rules created for this quiz.

Below you will find the best Mariner from July 7, 2011 (Seager’s debut) to present at the following positions:

  • Catcher
  • First Base
  • Second Base
  • Shortstop
  • Outfield (x3)
  • Starting Pitcher (x5)
  • Relief Pitcher (x3)
