Ah, the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. If you are lucky enough to have tomorrow off from work, then today is just a big ol’ freebie day of either not doing jack-squat or maybe finally finishing that house or yard project you’ve been putting off. And there’s baseball to watch, too, of course. But first, to the links!
In Mariners news...
- The Mariners claimed RHP Casey Sadler off the waiver wire on Saturday:
This season hasn’t been what any of us expected. I’m ready to get back to the pitcher I was last year. The Lords faithfulness is astounding-we bought a house near #Seattle a few months ago to call our forever home, and then this just happened. #goinghome #freshstart #Mariners https://t.co/uIrqQXFxRY

- I will go to war for Kendall Graveman, is a thing I never thought I’d say pre-2020:
When your teammates buy you back a "welcome back" chain to wear after your relief outings. Kendall Graveman: "We've got a lot of rookies so it may or may not be real." pic.twitter.com/xL79JqcHdq

Around baseball...

-Erasmo Ramirez is up.
-Corresponding move TBA.
- Very important Cubs news:

- From MLB.com, the top 15 trade candidates for this coming offseason.
- For the Athletic, Jim Bowden predictably gives Luis Robert the top spot over Kyle Lewis for his current 2020 rookie ratings ($).
- You just hate to see it:

- The Marlins have been plucky this year, but will be without RHP Elieser Hernández the rest of the way.
- In a season of firsts, RHP prospect Dean Kremer of the Orioles will yield a few more.
Pitcher Dean Kremer, the first Israeli ever drafted by an MLB team, makes his major league debut today for the Orioles. Of the five prospects the Orioles got from the Dodgers for Manny Machado in 2018, he’s the first to make the majors.

Eric’s picks!
Friday night, the Seattle Storm had themselves a wild ending to lock down the best record in the league (15-3) with four games to go in the regular season.

LL Staff Writer and podcast guru Matthew Roberson wrote an excellent post about how exciting the 2020 Storm are and it’s a great entry point if you’re looking to start watching their playoff run this season.
