FanPost Friday: The dream is dead—for now

Mathematically dead, but still alive and well in our hearts

time to harvest the crops
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

To steal and ruin a phrase from the mighty Dave Niehaus, 19 long years of frustration are not quite over. We weren’t really expecting them to to be, after all, but it would have been a nice bonus on this plague year of 2020. But also, did we really want the Mariners to break their playoff-less streak and then not be able to attend any home playoff games in person? Talk about a real Sophie’s Choice.

So anyways, y’all seem enjoy these polls I’ve started to doing on FPFs this season, so we’ll keep that going. But, first, these results from last week cracked me up:

Shoutout to everyone who recognized the references to Jarred Kelenic’s social media presence, where he recently posted a befuddled pic of himself with the caption “SMH” and also a couple years ago revealed he had named his Mercedes SUV “Rihanna.”

Onto the new polls! Let’s talk PLAYOFFS!

Y’all, we’ve got three Mariners games left in 2020. Enjoy them as much as you can and we’ll keep the fires burning for you here at LL all offseason long.
