Justus Sheffield and the Mariners hope to bounce back

How much of a difference two days make. Not so long ago, the Mariners were 1-4 and seemed firmly in pole position in the Kumar Rocker sweepstakes in a lost season. Three wins later, the Mariners were a half-game out of the division lead.

Welp, two 3-2 losses later, and suddenly the team’s rosey tint has gone by the wayside again. Such is life for a baseball fan living firmly in the present. We’re all guilty of missing the forest for the trees, I guess.

Today’s matchup is an important one, as Justus Sheffield is going to attempt to bounce back after an extremely poor first start that saw him give up four walks and four runs in just three innings. Backing him up will be a mix of exciting and not-so-exciting Mariners.
