Here we are, once again, we’re torn into dingers

MLB: Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Dodgers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday’s game was certainly the most exciting loss of the season. Tonight’s tilt, for Seattle’s sake, will hopefully be a shade more banal. Marco Gonzales will face Tony Gonsolin, as a matchup of former and present older rookies establishing themselves. For Gonzales, it’s a tall task to whip up a bounce-back outing against the stacked Dodgers lineup, but that’s what he’ll hope to do. L.A. sits a few of their lefties, pitting a few of their exceptional right-handed hitting utility men against Marco. The M’s bullpen is shorthanded, though the arrival of Art Warren and departure of Mallex Smith - see the blurb here - gives the Mariners a touch of extra depth. Mallex has looked abysmal, but it’s worth noting this leaves the M’s with the ‘ol two man bench for tonight’s game, and one (1) full-time outfielder in Kyle Lewis. Here’s hoping Joseph Odom and Tim Lopes are enough to hold it down!
