Hello! I am pleased to report the Mariners are at it again down in Texas. Our boys will face off against Framber Valdez and co. Here’s what they’ll look like:

Today's Lineups

MARINERS ASTROS
J.P. Crawford - SS George Springer - CF
Dylan Moore - RF Josh Reddick - RF
Kyle Lewis - CF Jose Altuve - 2B
Kyle Seager - 3B Alex Bregman - 3B
Austin Nola - C Yordan Alvarez - DH
Tim Lopes - DH Yuli Gurriel - 1B
Shed Long - 2B Carlos Correa - SS
Evan White - 1B Kyle Tucker - LF
Dee Gordon - LF Martin Maldonado - C
Yusei Kikuchi - LHP Framber Valdez - LHP

Evan White returns after a day off and an off day; Dee Gordon gets to play in a nice small left field; Dylan Moore will get more experience batting second. Tim Lopes designated hitter is somehow a lot more fun that I would have guessed in, like, 2016. They back Yusei Kikuchi, whose 2.17 FIP would be 6th in baseball if he had thrown enough innings to qualify. He sure has looked nice so far! Oh would you also like a trickle of news, as a treat? Sure.

A tiny bit of good news there, but mostly not great, especially about Graveman. I would still expect the club to snag his option if he isn’t thoroughly borked but it would be nice to know a little more about what we may have in him heading into the offseason.

Oh, and also, just how long did they have Tom Murphy playing on an apparently pretty broken foot?
