Well, wasn’t last night a hoot! Three Mariner homers, every single hitter reaching base, Justin Dunn battling through six innings for his first big league win... all good stuff. Can Marco keep the good times rolling?

Tim Lopes gets the start at DH (!) in the ninth spot of the order (!!). This is just the twentieth time in franchise history that the designated hitter is rounding out the lineup, and the first time since July 3rd, 2017 when Boog Powell took that honor. Marvel at the bottom half of that lineup! Aside from swapping in Daniel Vogelbach for Dee Gordon, though, tonight’s lineup is pretty much identical to yesterday’s, and they’ll need to keep the good times rolling against a tough lefty Mike Minor. Minor had something of a breakout year in 2019, posting 4.1 fWAR while racking up 200 strikeouts for the first time in his career, and although the ERA in the early going is pretty ghastly, an atrocious 44% strand rate suggests he’s been getting pretty unlucky with sequencing. Hope that bad luck continues!
