The Mariners. The A’s. We’ve seen this before, so many times that the specifics of the meetings tend to blur together. How many times over the years did we wonder aloud how Jed Lowrie and Brett Anderson were STILL on the A’s? Did Mark Canha and his ski mask start as a way to personally make us upset, or was he always wearing it and we just started to notice when he became kind of good? Was this Fernando Rodney masterclass from 2014 or 2015?
All of this A’s exhaustion was a precursor for today’s Spring Training game, during which we’ll get to learn even more about Oakland’s young players who have no business being good but will unquestionably post 1.5-3 WAR this season. The elephants are also sending Jesús Luzardo to the mound today against a Mariner team that has not hit very well during the 2020 Cactus League season. This should be a good test for the M’s, who will be countering with Zac Grotz after Kendall Graveman fell ill.
Zac Grotz starting for the #Mariners today because Kendall Graveman has been dealing with the flu. Braden Bishop has also been feeling under the weather.
