Free-form jazz/Rush-inspired experimental playoffs should be right up the alley of every white male baseball writer alive, yet the response and the results has been a bit tepid and uneven through almost 2 rounds now. Maybe it’s just due to too many sweeps. Maybe adding more teams and more playoff games in a year where fans cannot attend and the media has to interview players via Zoom was a bad idea after all? Time will tell. Now that almost all the fun teams have been booted from the playoffs and the fucking Houston Astros are still around (seriously, why were they even allowed in the 2020 playoffs???), it’s up to the Tampa Bay Rays (okay, and the #BARVES because of all the batflips/selfie cellys) to save us from boring and/or hated rooting interests going forward.
