The 2020 MLB season is over. The Dodgers finally won the title that had proven so elusive for them in their recent chain of postseason appearances as they defeated the Rays in 6 games. Justin Turner tested positive for COVID-19 and no one stopped him from celebrating mask-less with the team on the field. It was all very muted and weird and extremely 2020.
But! That means it is now the offseason, the time when famously active general managers like Jerry Dipoto get to shine. With the Mariners poised to, well, actually try to field a winning team for a few consecutive seasons starting in 2021 as many of the homegrown and otherwise young talents begin to peak, this offseason could prove to be an exciting one if the team makes some signings and trades to address the problem areas of the 2020 roster.
So it’s time to play Armchair GM. What moves would you make?
Prompt: What is your ideal offseason plan for the Mariners?
Write a FanPost and tell us all about both your logical, safe-bet moves and your wild, hair-brained schemes to bring in the talent that the Mariners need to push them into the playoffs.
Or, just sound off in the comments with your offseason predictions, wants, and desires. Here’s a poll to get the gears turning. We’ve been profiling some of the current free agents out there that would make sense on the 2021 Mariners roster and so....
Which of these LL-profiled free agents is your top pick for Jerry Dipoto to sign?
