Well, we made it here. A wild expanded postseason, neutral sites, fans (cringe emoji) in the seats at the NLCS, and two Game 7s have given us the two teams with the best record in the Majors in the World Series. In one corner, we have the ever-innovative, low-payroll Tampa Bay Rays, with former M’s like Mike Zunino and local kids like Blake Snell as rooting interests. In the other corner, we have the super-team Los Angeles Dodgers, who should be the favorite thanks to their endless pool of offensive and pitching talent.
As with the LCS series, the World Series will be held entirely in Arlington inside Home Depot Globe Life Field, with limited in-person attendance. Thanks to having the better regular season record, the Dodgers have “home” field advantage, with them having last ups tonight, tomorrow, and in Games 6 and 7 if needed, while the Rays will be “home” for Games 3, 4, and 5 if necessary. The handsome righty Tyler Glasnow will take the hill for Tampa tonight, opposing one of the best left-handers of this century in Clayton Kershaw. Should be a hoot!
