Today the Astros face the threat of being swept in the postseason, isn’t that a shame? I wasn’t able to watch the games yesterday but did follow along on the MLB app, watching the tiny dots of the Rays fill up the bases again and again against Astros pitching, which was plenty satisfying in its own right. Remember you can follow the games for free on MLB’s app, or if you have cable, you can find today’s games on FS1 (NLCS) and TBS (ALCS) as the Astros attempt to not get swept on out of the postseason. That’s a satisfying sentence to type, right there.
The Dodgers find themselves in the unfamiliar territory of being down 0-2 in their series as the Atlanta Braves continue to romp through the postseason. Today’s game isn’t must-win for the Dodgers, unlike for the Astros, but no one wants to go down 0-3, unless you are the Astros. Julio Urias will get the start for the Dodgers as Clayton Kershaw remains absent from the series, while the Braves are rolling out yet another young pitcher in Kyle Wright.
That game starts [checks watch] now, on FS1.
The later game today is again the ALCS, with the Astros pushed to the brink of elimination and needing to win to keep their season alive. Any way I phrase that it just sounds great. Tyler Glasnow will return to the hill for the Rays, while Zack Greinke starts for the Astros. This game will overlap the NLCS game somewhat, starting at 5:40 on TBS, because the east coast is full of whiny babies who don’t want to stay up too late watching baseball. Get it together, Northeast Corridor!
