8/9/19: Open Game Thread

Edgar Weekend is finally here! Here’s hoping it’s the opposite of the infamous Deadgar Weekend from 2017. The Rays haven’t won at Safeco T-Mobile since 2015, so at least we have recent history on our side.

Unfortunately, the triumphant returns of Mike Zunino and Guillermo Heredia will have to wait. A Tim Lopes/Mallex Smith/Ryan Court outfield might bring back some repressed 2013 memories, but at least Lopes is interesting! Lefty Jalen Beeks is making just his second start of the season, but has been a solid multi-inning reliever/post-opener all season, topping out at 6.2 innings on May 1st. Expect to see a lot of changeups from him tonight, especially facing Seattle’s righty-heavy lineup.
