It’s almost time for the wacky pagentry and spectacle of the MLB All-Star Game and Home Run Derby. I mean, who could forget this?
In 2017, Robinson Canó hit a go-ahead home run to win the game for the American League and was named the All-Star Game MVP. Feels like a million years ago, right?
How about last year, straight up just a year ago, the Mariners comms team went full court press to #SendSegura for the Final Vote spot for the 2018 All-Star Game and Jean Segura hit a go-ahead home run, but then Edwin Díaz gave the lead back, so then Alex Bregman hit the game winning home run and won MVP, and then Segura proceeded to have a trash second half of the season while destroying whatever good team chemistry was left on the 2018 team which fully allowed the roster to be dismantled and oh god I am way off track here. Ahem, sorry. This is supposed to be about GOOD All-Star Game memories.
Prompt: What’s your favorite All-Star Game moment, memory, or experience?
Doesn’t have to be Mariners related, but we there have been plenty of great ones. Griffey’s mulitple HRD appearances and hitting the warehouse at Camden Yards. Were you lucky enough to attend the 2001 All-Star Game at Safeco Field when the Mariners made up like half the dang AL roster? That was wild.
Anyways, tell us about your favorite ASG moments in a FanPost and we’ll front page the best submissions over the weekend. Enjoy the upcoming break, recharge your baseball watching batteries, and we’ll be right back here at the ol’ Lookout Landing dot com to guide you through the rest of the season.
