7/31/19: Open Game Thread

With the deadline over, some players play against some other players on these fleeting things called “teams”

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Roenis Elias recorded the save in last night’s 8-5 victory over the Rangers, and today he is a Washington National. The game was started by Mike Leake, who is now a Diamondback. Here are ten players who are still Mariners:

Wade LeBlanc, who has followed an opener in 9 of his last 10 appearances, will start the game like it’s 2018 today. In his last appearance he got the win in a 10-2 victory over the Tigers, giving up just one run (a solo home run) on four hits and a walk in six innings, striking out four. The Mariners will face Mike Minor, who’s most recent start came last Wednesday against - oh, us! - a game the Mariners won 5-3. Minor gave up all five runs, four earned in that contest on eight hits and a walk while striking out five.

Keon Broxton will make his second start for the Mariners, going 1 for 5 in last night’s game immediately after being acquired off waivers from the Orioles.
