Good morning everyone! We’re still waiting for some major trade news to come down as we officially sit two weeks out from the deadline. Here’s some other stuff that you may find interesting today...
In Mariners news...
- Given the team’s direction this year, I would love to see some innings devoted to Erik Swanson instead of Tommy Milone.
Rookie Erik Swanson will work out of the bullpen for Mariners -- as he'd been doing lately for Tacoma -- but could be used as an opener as well. Servais says it's still TBA whether they go with an opener tomorrow, with Tommy Milone slated to pitch the bulk of the innings vs. A's.

Around the league...

- Huh...this seems like something I should have been more aware of.
In 2002, 54.2 percent of all pitches were thrown for strikes. That figure in 2019 is a record-low 42.2 percent. https://t.co/luUlFZMkuX

- The Blue Jays DFA’d Edwin Jackson, who must be used to packing his bags by now.
Anders’ picks...
- For those of you who are keeping a close eye on the NHL developments in Seattle...
