Today is the rubber match of a three-game set in Los Angeles Anaheim. Wade LeBlanc is pitching today, although he’ll be opened by Austin Adams. Honestly, I’m okay with one fewer Mike Trout at-bat against Wader Tot, so I don’t mind this too much. He’ll be up against Jose Suarez, an international signee of the Angels in 2015 who made his major league debut last week. Command issues have plagued him as he’s reached the upper minors: Suarez posted a 4.0 BB/9 rate in 17 AAA starts last year and a 4.3 BB/9 rate in his five AAA appearances in 2019.
Meanwhile, down on the Farm, it appears that Jarred Kelenic has not been placed on the injured list after all? Let’s hope that our favorite phenom* is okay. And while we’re on that subject, Ryan Divish is feeling a little spicy today, so he gave us the morning boost we’ve been waiting for.
*tied with JULIOOOOOOO and, well, everybody else
Based on what's transpiring in New York and getting Jarred Kelenic and Justin Dunn in return, Jerry Dipoto's best move of the offseason and his rebuild is probably going to be getting out from under Robinson Cano's contract.
