MLB: Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Today we’ve had a 17-13 Yankees-Red Sox game in Europe and a nearly flawless debut by Rays top pitching prospect Brendan McKay. The next primetime event, naturally, is the Mariners and the Astros. Given a Fox national broadcast, the M’s will look to showcase their unique brand of nonsense with a potentially fascinating showdown between Yusei Kikuchi and Justin Verlander. Kikuchi has had miserable command in his past several outings, but has no doubt been tinkering and attempting to get things aligned. When he’s got it going, he’s a delight to watch. If Seattle can match the fight they put up in the extra-innings loss they had the last time they faced Verlander, it’d be a worthy game of the big stage.

Kyle Seager is back from his three-game absence after a minor wrist injury, though that could change if he looks out of sorts pre-game.
