It’s hard to think about Houston without thinking of the iconic line from Apollo 13, “Houston, we have a problem.” I imagine Houstonians get tired of hearing that, much like Seattlites get tired of watching Pike Place Market fish throwing on national sports broadcasts. Next month is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, which featured Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walking on the moon (or a sound stage in Burbank, if that’s your interpretation). I’m rooting for the Mariners to honor the golden anniversary of that historic event by launching a lot of moonshots in Houston.

As Shannon mentions above Kyle Seager has been scratched with hand soreness. In transaction news, LHP Jesse Biddle was claimed off waivers by the Rangers leaving the Mariners with an open spot on the 40-man roster.
