This week’s prompt is geared toward the Prospect Watchers(TM), both seasoned and new, old and young.

Prompt: To all the prospects you’ve loved before...

Write an ode to a prospect that you tracked from an early stage to either eventual success in the majors or the eventual demise of their professional career. Or, write a love letter to your current pet prospect; the apple of your future-gazing, baseball-loving eye.

As Mariners fans, we have many reasons to be skeptical of prospects. We have many reasons to hide our hearts. But, we must also recognize that not all prospects will fail, just as not all prospects will be All-Stars. Different coaching and development staffs will have different success rates.

So, write a FanPost about your favorite prospect, current or past. Tell us what drew you to them, tell us about their highlights, their lowlights, and all the in-betweens. We’ll front page the best submissions over the weekend.

PS: Thanks for all the great submissions last week to the buy, sell, or hold prompt! Be sure to check these out if you haven’t yet: Here, here, here, and here!
