Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Mariners fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.
In case you missed it, a few weeks ago we called for people to sign up for our FanPulse, an anonymous survey delivered to your inbox every week asking for your input about how the team is doing. The first week’s results are in:
Truthfully, there’s probably a lot of gray area in there, and if the survey had included results for “doing the best he can” or “he’s fine I guess?” or “pretty good for a Midwestern dad with a limited range of emotional expression” I’m guessing those would have done big numbers.
Survey respondents were polled on a couple of other questions, as well:
Are you confident in the direction of the team?
From this, it seems that people are mostly on-board with the rebuild, but there definitely seems to be a solid number of folks who don’t trust JerryCo Incorporated. After two decades of fruitless baseball in Seattle and other failed rebuilds, feeling querulous about basically guaranteed losing baseball with a nebulous promise of eventual playoff glory is understandable, to say the least.
Will your team win the World Series?
Mariners fans. Nothing if not realistic.
If you didn’t sign up for this week’s survey but would like to be included in the next one (yes, I’m talking to you, person stomping around their office hollering “BUT SERVAIS IS A TERRIBLE MANAGER”), sign up at the link above. You can read more about the FanPulse program here.
