As staffer Zach Gottchalk deftly detailed earlier this week, the Mariners’ $99 a month Ballpark Pass isn’t a great deal for several reasons, namely the lack of assigned seating and price itself as compared to other offerings in similarly expensive markets like Seattle. Did I mention the plan will auto-renew if you don’t cancel it? So, yes, you can pay roughly $600 for the pleasure of standing at every home game for the non-contending/soft-rebuilding Seattle Mariners. You’re probably not going to do that, huh? So, that begs the question:
What will you be spending $99 a month on instead of the Ballpark Pass?
It's highly likely that deals on tickets will get pretty good on the secondary market this season, so maybe you’ll just be spending your Mariners money that way. Or perhaps you’ll be focused on getting more bang for your buck and watching fun prospects in Tacoma and Everett. I know I’m definitely planning on making it to more AquaSox games in 2019 since it’s a pretty short drive for me to the Crown Jewel of Snohomish County, Everett Memorial Stadium. Or maybe you’ll be spending your baseball dollars on non-baseball things this year, which is also understandable.
Anyways, tell us your plans in a FanPost and we’ll front page the best ones this weekend. Apologies to Sweezo, who wrote this excellent post about Ken Griffey, Sr. last week but I didn’t have a chance to front page it yet. Go read it, it’s lovely. Peace!
