The 2010s are over. For me, the decade will be neatly framed as high school, college, and young adulthood. I don’t know how you personally will remember this decade, but I imagine you have a decent idea of which baseball players were good. This quiz comprises all of Major League Baseball. We did a Mariner-specific version a few weeks ago.

By FanGraphs’ version of WAR, these are the 25 best position players of the last 10 years. Nelson Cruz narrowly missed out, coming in at 26th. This is likely due in some part to FanGraphs’ obsession with catcher defense, as there are four catchers in this group. The teams listed are only the teams they played for in the 2010s, and the fWAR figures are also limited to just the 2010s.

For funsies, the best player of the 2000s (by fWAR) was Alex Rodriguez. He accumulated 75.5 WAR, just an eyelash ahead of the player on this list, who missed out on 2010 altogether and only got in 40 games in 2011. Let’s all put our energy toward getting this man out of the American League.
