Four aces are set to pitch as we enter the meat of the playoffs

Nationals at Cardinals — Game 2 (WAS leads 1-0)

Yesterday saw Aníbal Sánchez put up a stupendous performance in Game 1 of the NLCS as the Nationals beat the Cardinals. Lest anybody let you forget, the Nationals winning the pennant would make the Mariners the only MLB franchise without a pennant in their history. As rough as that would be, I think my personal disdain for the Cardinals overrules that. It seems you mostly agree, as yesterday’s poll saw 86% of respondents favor the Nationals.

Today, the Nationals and Cardinals continue with Game 2 in St. Louis. Max Scherzer will try to shut down the Cardinals, who will counter with Adam Wainwright. Here’s the full lineup.

Today's Lineups

NATIONALS CARDINALS
Trea Turner - SS Dexter Fowler - CF
Adam Eaton - RF Kolten Wong - 2B
Anthony Rendon - 3B Paul Goldschmidt - 1B
Juan Soto - LF Marcell Ozuna - LF
Howie Kendrick - 2B Yadier Molina - C
Ryan Zimmerman - 1B Matt Carpenter - 3B
Kurt Suzuki - C Tommy Edman - RF
Michael Taylor - CF Paul DeJong - SS
Max Scherzer - RHP Adam Wainwright - RHP

The Nationals will run out the same lineup as yesterday, except with Kurt Suzuki catching instead of Yan Gomes. Meanwhile, the Cardinals lineup will be truly identical to yesterday’s (except the pitcher).

Yankees at Astros — Game 1

Meanwhile, tonight’s matchup pits the Evil Empire against the Other Evil Empire. I don’t have a lot to say here, although I guess I do like Zack Greinke and Masahiro Tanaka, so I hope they pitch well while their teams implode around them.

Game time: 5:08 PM PST

TV: FOX

Their lineups haven’t been posted yet, though the pitching matchup is good enough to make it worth turning in to this vomit-fest. With that being said, please hold your nose and choose a team:
