Game 162/162: Open Game Thread

All’s well that ends... never mind

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Well, we made it. It’s the last game of the baseball season. Just three short months ago, who would have thought we’d be here now? Although, just three short months before that, who would have thought we’d be where we were then?

I would love to say that we can settle in and watch the 2018 Mariners play one more game of enjoyable baseball. Maybe we can. But, I mean, look at this lineup.

Today's Lineups

Shin-Soo Choo - DH Guillermo Heredia - CF
Elvis Andrus - SS Denard Span - LF
Rougned Odor - 2B Nelson Cruz - RF
Adrian Beltre - 3B Kyle Seager - 3B
Joey Gallo - RF Daniel Vogelbach - DH
Ronald Guzman - 1B Ryon Healy - 1B
Carlos Perez - C Kris Negron - 2B
Willie Calhoun - LF David Freitas - C
Drew Robinson - CF Andrew Romine - SS

After yesterday’s debacle, Jean Segura is indeed out of the lineup for the Mariners. Robinson Canó too. I don’t know the full story of why Jean was pulled, or what else has happened behind the scenes with him and Scott Servais. That being said, I can’t imagine a worse vibe for a season full of bad vibes to end on.

I love Jean. Hopefully, with some time away from one another, cooler heads prevail.
