The Mariners’ loss last night makes them 5-1 in their last six games against the Astros. But I encourage you to consider this: the Mariners have won their last five games against Houston when they’ve started someone that normally starts. Game changer. Here are the lineups:
Fortunately, even after trotting out a reliever to start last night, only three pitchers were used. Nick Vincent pitched well to start, but likely won’t be available after pitching two innings. Zach Duke pitched a scoreless inning and Ross Detwiler was DFA’d with Nick Rumbelow being called up in his place. Plenty of options are still available in the ‘pen. Let’s see if Marco Gonzales can return to form and if the Mariners can get to Charlie Morton again.
