Alas, the smoke hasn’t cleared yet. But the baseball marches on.

The Astros are conducting a bullpen day today, and will open with Brad Peacock. After a very solid 2017 as a swingman, Peacock has moved to the bullpen full-time this year, and has become a swing-and-miss monster, with a strikeout rate pushing 40%. He’s been somewhat prone to the long ball, though, sporting a HR/FB more than double what it was last year. While he likely won’t go more than two or three innings, it would behoove the M’s to jump on him early.
Mike Leake is fresh off his best start of the season, twirling eight scoreless frames against the A’s last Wednesday. Although that may be a little too much to ask against Houston, Leake has been on quite a run since a rocky first two months of the year, and has provided desperately-needed reliability in the rotation...
uh oh
Mike Leake has been scratched from tonight's start due to illness. Right-handed reliever Nick Vincent will make the start.

Bullpen vs. bullpen! Cool cool cool cool.
Also roster move incoming! Seeing Detwiler tonight is almost a certainty, I’d say.
Ross Detwiler has been called up from Tacoma. Chasen Bradford optioned back to Tacoma. Infielder Zach Vincej DFA'd to open 40-man spot for Detwiler, who provides some length in bullpen. Was scheduled to start tonight in Tacoma.
