The one where the Mariners score more than one run

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

I would say that I hope today’s game is more enjoyable than last night’s, but that seems like a pretty low bar. From Dee Gordon suffering a minor injury to Mitch Haniger not being in the lineup to multiple TOOTBLANs, there wasn’t lot that went well for the M’s. Today sees James Paxton take the hill against the Rockies as the Mariners try to keep pace against the class of the AL.

Today's Lineups

COLORADO ROCKIES SEATTLE MARINERS
DJ LeMahieu - 2B Jean Segura - SS
Charlie Blackmon - CF Mitch Haniger - RF
Nolan Arenado - 3B Nelson Cruz - DH
Trevor Story - SS Kyle Seager - 3B
Ian Desmond - DH Ryon Healy - 1B
Chris Iannetta - C Guillermo Heredia - CF
Carlos Gonzalez - RF John Andreoli - LF
Pat Valaika - 1B David Freitas - C
Noel Cuevas - LF Andrew Romine - 2B
Kyle Freeland - LHP James Paxton - LHP

The good news: Mitch Haniger is back. The bad news: Dee Gordon is out, and both Ben Gamel and Denard Span are getting the day off against a lefty in favor of new call-up John Andreoli. Andreoli should be ok, but the bottom of this lineup looks... less than ok.
