Good evening! Before we dive into this Angels series, some good news!
Mariners announce they have signed Wade LeBlanc to a contract extension that covers 2019 with options for '20, '21 and '22.

Hooray! Wade LeBlanc has exceeded probably everybody’s expectations so far this year, and has been rewarded with a very team-friendly extension. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a deal with three team options, but it presents the Mariners with a great amount of flexibility, and LeBlanc has more than earned it. Well done, Wade! Here’s hoping he can get the win on the heels of this extension.

With the exception of Shohei Ohtani at DH, LeBlanc will be confronted by an entirely right-handed lineup. The only lefty taking the field for the Angels being Andrew Heaney, who has been a steady presence in Anaheim’s rotation Logging the second-most innings on the staff behind Tyler Skaggs, his overall results haven’t been spectacular, but he is no means the pushover he was in his injury-plagued 2017. Hopefully the M’s bats can jump on him early.
