Let’s try this again...

MLB: San Francisco Giants at Seattle Mariners
AHHHHH
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Mariners attempt to right the ship today after dropping 10 of their last 15 games. The offense has posted a wRC+ of 81 during the month of July, good for 26th in MLB, but the good news...they’ve been better than that against left-handers (like Derek Holland) over that span, wRC+ing 86! Holland will be making his first start since July 10, having been used as a reliever in his last two outings. The Giants’ pen shouldn’t be particularly taxed today, having logged just 3.1 innings yesterday following an off day, but each of the club’s most effective relievers was used, so there’s a chance they’d shy away from at least 1-2 of those arms with a series against the Brewers—who they are chasing in the NL Wild Card hunt—starting tomorrow. Here’s to hoping the exact same lineup that strung together eight hits against Albert Suárez (and just one hit against the Giants’ bullpen) last night can find a little better batted ball luck today!
