Earlier this week during the All-Star Break, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred dropped some tantalizing tidbits about potential MLB expansion. Among the cities listed were Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, B.C.

If this ever happens, it’s obviously years off in the future. But, with Manfred and his wild and crazy ideas on baseball, you never know. Could happen before we know it.
Prompt: If Portland and/or Vancouver get a MLB team, will you root for them?
If you live in Oregon or British Columbia (or places closer to there than Seattle), do you see yourself switching allegiances completely or continuing to root for the Mariners, but with a fun side-team, as well? Does the potential new team being in the AL or NL make a difference to you?
The petty side of me thinks this would be a disgrace and an affront to my delicate sensibilities as a Seattle Mariners fan. The more rational side of me thinks, hey, more baseball is good. Shorter travel for the Mariners is GOOD. If they’re a National League team, I might even consider rooting for them. Not so much if they’re an AL West team. I don’t know, I’ll have to do some more math on that.
Either way, it’s a fun and interesting prospect to think about.
Where do you stand it on it? Tell us all about it in a FanPost and we’ll front page the best submissions over the weekend! Also, go watch “The Battered Bastards of Baseball” on Netflix if you haven’t yet.
