Good morning and welcome to yet another edition of MLB games played in the middle of the work day. I’m not sure what’s worse, the fact that we here on the west coast get the game at noon, or that the game is actually played at 3pm on the east coast. Either way, the Mariners are looking to end the series agains the Orioles with a sweep.
Mike Leake, who went eight innings against the Red Sox on Saturday allowing only three hits and no runs, takes the mound against Jimmy Yacabonis, who has only pitched in two games this season (April 7th and May 12th, each appearance lasting no more than an inning and one-third). In his 2.1 innings pitched, Yacabonis faced 14 batters and racked up an 8.67 FIP.
In other news, Nelson Cruz returns to the lineup today, while Kyle Seager gets the day off.
