In which the Mariners try to snap a losing streak

Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

The good news: we all made it to Friday! The bad news: the Mariners are coming into this series against one of the best teams in baseball while on a four game losing streak. The worse news: Jean Segura is being held out of the lineup again with an arm infection. The team is reportedly hopeful that he’ll be able to play tomorrow, but the Mariners are undeniably worse without Segura’s services.

Wade LeBlanc gets the start tonight for the Mariners. He’s coming off an utter decimation of the Red Sox lineup last weekend. Will he be able to be as effective a second time? Common sense says “probably not”. The good news, though, is that the Mariners will be equally familiar with Red Sox knuckleballer Steven Wright.
