Sometimes you get an idea that sounds great in your head. That’s what happened in my head when I thought “Kate’s busy and I really want to go to the games while the team is in town. Let’s just record at Safeco!”
And that, dear listener, is what we did. The audio quality seems, to my ear, more tenable than I expected, but more filled with “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” than most would hope for. Nonetheless, I (John) was joined by fellow editor Isabelle Minasian and recap extraordinaire Zach Gottschalk Thursday night for a delightful evening in section 312. We begin with about 15 minutes of berating Marc Rzepczynski, just hours before his designation for assignment, but follow that with more timely content.
Who has stood out most on the team in their recent stretch of success? What do Nelson Cruz have in common with Kozilek’s Return? How would we appraise Gordon Beckham’s singing voice? Is there hope for Félix to resurge this season? Can John convince his fellow podcasters to care one iota about the draft? Is Wade LeBlanc a hologram? That and more, covered on this week’s episode.
Enjoy, and also let us know if you’d like more of this type of thing (Live episodes, etc.) or if the audio is too unbearable!
Music: Every Mariners’ walkup song, as well as whatever the M’s felt like playing between innings that we felt we could talk over.
Note: If you’re searching for the podcast to subscribe (and we would love it if you did) please be aware that it is listed as simply “Lookout Landing” and not “Lookout Landing 2.0” which is understandably confusing. We’re sorry.
Enjoy! Leave feedback! And go Mariners.
