Hello and welcome to another night of Mariners baseball! Tonight, after an outstanding sweep against the Angels earlier in the week, the M’s open up a four game series against the Boston Red Sox. Taking the mound against the east coast powerhouse team is none other than Félix Hernández.
After only pitching 3.0 innings in his last start against Tampa Bay and allowing six runs, five earned, Hernández looks to bounce back bring the same fire and energy his teammates have brought to Safeco of late. We all know this season has been rather unfortunate for the Venezuelan, but here’s what the M’s are hoping to see from the King, brought to you by The Athletic’s Corey Brock:
What do the Mariners want to see from Felix Hernandez tonight? According to Scott Servais, it's locating the fastball better and showing a diverse pitch mix, not so heavy on fastball use, same for his changeup.

The Mariners will be facing David Price, who is currently posting a 4.00 ERA and a 3.64 FIP. Price has been a consistent starter for the Red Sox, going at least 5.0 innings in all but two of his 13 starts.
