Wader Tot!

Houston Astros v Seattle Mariners Photo by Lindsey Wasson/Getty Images

Despite the high that was James Paxton’s no-hitter yesterday (...did that really happen??), the Mariners’ season marches on. Wade LeBlanc squares off against a fellow lefty in Jaime García, and the M’s look to secure another series win.

Russell Martin getting the start at third base sure is a thing. With a left-hander on the mound, Mitch Haniger and Kyle Seager swap places, and we get a Guillermo Heredia sighting!

While no one should expect LeBlanc to get particularly deep in the game today, the bullpen is fresh off of two days of rest. Chasen Bradford piggybacked off of Wade’s four-inning effort his last time out, and seeing something similar shouldn’t be out of the question. In any case, Jaime García has been clobbered by dingers so far in 2018, and his ground ball rate dropping almost fifteen percentage points suggests that it isn’t completely flukey. With the Jays boasting a solid bullpen overall, getting to him as early as possible would be very welcome.
