Today, May 2nd, the Mariners face the Oakland Athletics. In a sense, this is the most important game of baseball you’ll ever watch; after all, we don’t know if there will ever be another one. This could be it. Who knows. We could all die of separate heart attacks overnight. Anyway, lineups!

Utterly ordinary from the Mariners top to bottom, except... ugh, what... come on. Ichiro plays today over Guillermo Heredia. Beat writers have noted without commentary that Ichiro is 12 for 33 lifetime against Brett Anderson. I note that his .727 OPS against Anderson is worse than Guillermo’s career OPS vs. LHP of .762, and Ichiro’s last appearance against Anderson came in 2011. Whatever, I’m so tired of talking about Ichiro. At least there was that rumor from Brad Adam about him retiri—
For those asking, #Mariners OF #Ichiro Suzuki tells me he is NOT retiring.
