Nobody likes Mondays, but they’re just a little more bearable when there’s baseball to be had at the end of them. Today’s tilt against the Royals has been the light at the end of the tunnel to get me through this day, and maybe it has for you too.

To make it even more exciting, Fivethirtyeight.com gives the Mariners a win probability of exactly 50% in today’s game, which officially makes it the first game of the entire season in which the Mariners haven’t been underdogs. Don’t believe me? Here it is.

Though the Mariners are at this point running out a shell of a lineup that once looked so promising, the lineup looks none too shabby.

Today's Lineups

SEATTLE MARINERS KANSAS CITY ROYALS
Dee Gordon - CF Jon Jay - LF
Jean Segura - SS Whit Merrifield - 2B
Robinson Cano - 2B Mike Moustakas - 3B
Mitch Haniger - RF Cheslor Cuthbert - 1B
Kyle Seager - 3B Jorge Soler - RF
Daniel Vogelbach - 1B Paulo Orlando - CF
Guillermo Heredia - LF Cameron Gallagher - DH
Ichiro Suzuki - DH Alcides Escobar - SS
David Freitas - C Drew Butera - C
Marco Gonzales - LHP Jakob Junis - RHP

I’m not a huge fan of the whole Ichiro/Freitas part of the lineup, but the top six pretty much look as good as any team’s.
