Good morning! Today is the Mariners’ last game in Chicago until 2019. Yesterday’s 1-0 nailbiter notwithstanding, it’s nice that we’re getting Guaranteed Rate Field out of the way early. A win today would give the team its second straight series win, and would be very welcome given that their next stop is Cleveland.

While Mike Zunino in the lineup again comes as a mild surprise given the day game, yesterday’s weird afternoon start time likely gave the guys a little more rest than usual. Besides, did you really think anyone else was going to catch Félix?
James Shields has struggled for the last few seasons, with a bloated home run rate being one of the main culprits. So far this year, his command has also evaporated, allowing more walks than strikeouts over his first 23.1 innings. At 36, one has to wonder how much time he has left in the game, but hopefully he has at least one more blowup in him today.
