4/13: Open Game Thread

The one where the fans get Ben Gamel hair hats, realize they don’t actually want Ben Gamel hair hats, then throw their Ben Gamel hair hats in the garbage, much to the chagrin of Captain Plastic and also Ben Gamel

Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

Hello, and welcome to the season’s first edition of Friday Night Baseball! That’s right, the Mariners’ schedule included off days each of the past two Fridays. To add confusion to an already silly schedule, those off days were in the middle of series.

Now the Mariners will pay for that silliness by beginning a slate of seventeen straight days of baseball. If you’re reading this, hopefully that means you’ll be watching/listening/following this game tonight. If you won’t be, then you are what Squints from The Sandlot would call an “L-7 Weenie”. Twenty five years later, I still have no idea what that actually means.

As you will note, the lineup below still does not include Nelson Cruz, Ben Gamel, or Mike Zunino. Scuttlebutt says that all three should be back by the end of this seven-game home stand.
